Seven years ago, our journey in the Pacific Islands began with a 3D printer, a weather station in the Solomon Islands, and a determination to make a difference.
When we arrived, we found a critical weather monitoring instrument—essential for early warnings before severe weather—damaged beyond use, its wiring soaked from rain. A dedicated volunteer was using plastic bags and a hairdryer to try and keep it running. The solution? We 3D-printed a replacement part overnight, bringing the system back to life and proving that local innovation can solve real problems.

Since then, we've expanded across Fiji, Vanuatu, Samoa and the Solomon Islands. We’re delivering life-saving disaster response, strengthening community preparedness, and training a new generation of Pacific innovators. Field Ready's impact in the Pacific includes:
Designed and locally produced rapid sanitation latrines, with thousands deployed across 10 disaster responses.
Trained two dozen young Pacific engineers in innovative problem-solving for rapid response repairs.
Developed local solutions to improve accessibility in community evacuation centers, ensuring safer spaces for people with disabilities.
Produced 1,000 coral regeneration "reef stars" to support marine ecosystems and advance Sustainable Development Goal # 14.
Manufactured over 20,000 drinking water buckets in Fiji, improving access to clean water for communities in need.
Designed and built four custom-made mobile makerspaces—field workshops equipped for rapid repairs in remote areas.
Assisted dozens of communities with emergency aid during 10 disasters, providing thousands of Pacific Islanders with clean water, sanitation and inclusive facilities.
Here’s to seven years of impact, resilience and locally driven solutions. And we’re just getting started!
