Field Ready's Fiji program has been working with the Frank Hilton Special School in Suva to assess the needs of the students and develop relevant items to make.
One of the items that they created was a drinking straw holder. Each of Field Ready's four technical interns designed and printed their own model. The children, caregivers and teachers provided their feedback and were delighted and many said the device would be helpful to them.
In the end, Karthiyani's design was judged the most effective and will be the standard model to be scaled and distributed. But all the work was a high standard and everyone learned a lot.
