For the first time ever, the world’s humanitarian community is coming together for a two day summit (23-24 May 2016) in Istanbul. The World Humanitarian Summit is a global call to action by United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon. Field Ready is participating in several ways.
The Summit has three main goals, which are to:
Re-inspire and reinvigorate a commitment to humanity and to the universality of humanitarian principles.
Initiate a set of concrete actions and commitments aimed at enabling countries and communities to better prepare for and respond to crises, and be resilient to shocks.
Share best practices which can help save lives around the world, put affected people at the center of humanitarian action, and alleviate suffering.
Field Ready will be have a table (#24) at the Innovation Marketplace showcasing our activities. The Innovation Marketplace allows organizations like our display the practical applications of innovations, new or improved products, tools, services and processes that contribute to effective humanitarian action. Humanitarian Makers will also be present as well as our partner, World Vision Nepal. If you will be in Istanbul and would like to meet us to discuss potential collaborations, please get in touch at info@fieldready.org
